Spain has a flourishing market related to electric bikes .

The aim of reducing pollution has leaded major spanish cities as Madrid or Barcelona to promote the use of bikes as a mean of transport.

This year in Barcelona have been built 60 more km of bike lanes, which means that the city nowadays has a total of 233 km.

The reasons to rent a bike in Barcelona, are not only the good weather  we enjoy most of the year,  but also avoiding crowded buses and underground,  With the added value of enjoying the amaizing  sites of the city.

But Barcelona it’s not a flat city!! Depending on the neighbourhood you want to visit  unless you are really fit it will be a hard work to reach it.  And trust me with more tan 30ºC during the summer,  you really do not want to try it!!

So this is why electric bikes are having such a succes. You can go anywhere with a mínimum effort and no driving license is required.

There are many shops that rent e-bikes per hours or days, and also some companies that offer renting through apps, like Scoot.

You only have to download the app, check where the e-bikes are located on the street, take it and return it to one of their free charging zones or on the street within Scoot service área.
